High End:Jupiter Street, Annapolis Street, Eastwood City, Fort Bonifacio, Greenbelt
For shopping centers, go to:

Upscale: Rockwell Mall, Ayala Center, Greenbelt, Shangri-La, The Podium, Tiendesitas.
*SM Mall of Asia, recentlyopened, and located in Pasay City, is the world's third largest mall, and the largest in Southeast Asia.
For parks: Rizal Park, La Mesa Watershed Eco-park, Ninoy Aquino Wildlife park, Quezon Memorial Circle.

BASIC TIPS:
*Everyone speaks English, so there is no need to fret about language concerns.
*Metro Manila is Westernized and Americanized thoroughly, and tourists are often dumbfounded, often expecting Third-World conditions - yes, there are skyscrapers, tons of them.
*All sorts of people can be found. Manila has a large American and Amerasian population. Chinese, Spanish, Eurasians,Koreans, Indians, and Europeans are oftenly seen, together with the Filipinos. (The elite is mostly Caucasian).
*Terrorism is actually not a hindrance, since it is not even felt - Manila is even more safe than NY.
*American culture is widespread.
*Movies, films, and rock music are shown or released in the Philippines first, before other Asian countries and Australia.

I have been to the Philippines and i lived ther for about 6 years. It is a really amazing place and the people are really hospitable there, and if you ever have plans to go there i suggest you go to Cebu, which is the oldest in the Philippines. Also try going to the white sand beaches, they are really beautiful and you can never imagine how nice they are.
You can also try doing a diving course, which usually takes about 2 days and then going diving there too. Im telling you you will never regret it.
Just remember this: if they ever charge you more than 2500 pesos (50 usd) for the dive, they are asking too much, so you should be careful, and also try asking for bargains when you buy things, because when they see your foreigner face they rise all the prices.
If you really like the sea and the beaches, then you should go to Boracay which is a really beautiful island where you can do the scuba diving lessons there and you can also go jetskiing.

good luck and i hope you like the Philippines (if you plan to go there anyways)

it particularly is a no longer trouble-free one. The Philippines for the time of its pre colonial era have been separate lands owned by utilising diverse clans that fought against one yet another. So till they have been waiting to settle their variations aside like Japan did after the Mongols tried to invade them, what's immediately the Philippines have been in all likelihood be separated islands owned by utilising diverse areas. certainly, something might desire to of take place, it would of been Islamized, yet many human beings in Indonesia are Muslim, would not recommend there are not animists residing in the country. Animist human beings might in all likelihood nonetheless stay area by utilising area with Muslim human beings, perhaps. the full islands would not be united like it is immediately if the pre colonial Philippines weren't invaded by utilising any united states of america that would unite them or some how have the human beings in the islands settle their variations and desires and make contributions into one united states of america.
