I think it's 16 because of the math involved, you cut 16 in half and get 8, cut that in half you get 4, cut that in half and get 2, then a final winner. Try doing that with 15 or 18

Fear Factor usually has 6 contestants and isn't the new Big Brother gonna have 20!

maybe because they are trying to reach out to that age? i dont know.
