no ..... but sometimes if illegal shutdown is performed many times

I own one and it doesn't makes noise. The computer fan makes more noise so I don't even notice the HDD.

If your drive is making noise, TRANSFER YOUR DATA NOW!! The drive is going to crash soon! Do a backup, now! If you want to preserve your data and programs the way they are now. Get a new hard drive and transfer the backup to it after you load an operating system onto it.

normally for all the hdd the sound wil come due to the damage of internal parts.
the sound denotes tat ur hdd is dying
check it out...
wen the sound increases it shows tat its life time is ending...
