It's a simple request really.

Active or inactive, I mean ultimately plunging to your death.

If I felt you would really benefit from it, and you caught me on a bad mental health day, then I just might!

No, I'm afraid I'd need more motivation than that. It's not the complexity of the request from which I recoil - it is indeed simple - but the result. Now, if you'd be content with an extinguished volcano, then that would be another matter entirely. There are several of those hereabouts that would answer admirably, and into which I could plunge without any undesirable consequences to myself or anyone. Just say the word!

figuratively, probably.
literally, not a chance.

However, if someone does happen to take you up on the offer, please remind them: E nihi ka hele

You must have mistaken me as one of the Boys for Pele. Need I remind you, "I know you've seen fire, but you've never seen fire
until you've seen Pele blow"

As much as I appreciate your request, and as much as I respect volcanoes, I would have to say "no" to taking the plunge. My life is glorious and my daughter needs me.....she still has much to learn and so do I. But, if volcanoes are your thing, I would highly recommend journeying up Haleakala to check out the sunrise. Or, better yet, driving up Mauna Kea to star gaze at night. It will 'take your breath away'...you will swear that you plunged into the volcano, died and gone to heaven.

That is a plunge I wouldn't mind taking. Care to join me? I'll even go first.

What would be the point? I've already been dead. Been there, done that. Sure, I'll put it on my list of things to do later... right next to get an icepick and ram it up my nose repeatedly. Hope you don't mind me procrastinating on that one though for at least a century or so. I have so many more things I've already promised to do before that... I do have priorities too and this seems like something that can definitely wait until later.

Would you drink this drink if I asked you to first? You show me you trust me and I will gradually trust you. Then if you ask me to take the plunge.......I will gladly do a triple flip into a swan dive into the volcano. An impressive ending it certainly shall be.

Bunjee jump into a long inacive volcano? Possibly. I'd like to see the safety equipment first. Will you be giving me anything in return?

Are you serious? Check out geological sciences and you'll find that people and machines "plunge" into volcanoes often.
