once upon a time, all existence was encapsulated in one tiny atom. it was called the pituitary atom. then it exploded, releasing the universe.

The big bang became a theory when Hubble discover the universe was expanding and not just sitting still. It was concluded that if the universe was expanding than at some point in time it would have been a single point. COBE satellite in the late 90's took pictures of the universe in the 21cm band and was able to see the universe when it was about 300,000 years old. What it saw match the predictions of the big bang and the universe starting off almost completely uniform with only the smallest clumps of matter that as it expanded, gravity help form the current structure of the universe. The evidence for the big bang is so overwhelming that it is used as the standard model to explain the formation of the universe and is support be theories that match observation.

Perhaps it is one way to explain how something was created from nothing without getting into the religious aspects as that is not what science is here to explain.nor can explain or visa versa It is a way in which something was created from nothing. It is how to explain an anomaly that occurred in the natural state of nothingness. It is how two equal but oppositely charged universes were created from nothing. When the two universes were pulled apart by the force; mass, energy, atoms and quarks were put into motion. This is what is responsible for setting the right conditions for life and other phenomena. Whatever the force was it can easily explain how we arrive at Super String Theory.
