Her license was revoked or suspended. I'm afraid to get my car impounded if she gets caught. She would always accuse me of being selfish and not think about all that she's done for me. I try to help her out in other ways, and my car is the most important thing to me right now. It gets me to work and I would use it to pick her up from wherever she may be. My car is pretty old, and I'm thankfull enough to have bought it from a nice lady. ... Should I feel guilty? Or do I have the right to say no?

as someone who works in insurance you did the right thing, for this simple fact, if she gets into an accident your insurance company will want to list her then they will find out she has no license then they will cancel your policy then you will have a hard time finding new insurance and when you do you will pay through the roof. besides that she has no license she isn't suppose to be driving they took it from her for a reason. you did the right thing your sister needs to grow up

Hello! She has no license, she no longer has the right to drive in the first place. If you lend her the car knowing these facts and something were to happen criminally you could be an accessory. Sorry about your sisters luck but it's your car. You have every right to say no to lending it to someone who doesn't have the proper permits, in fact it's your obligation not to!

At first I was going to say "yes," but then I read your first sentence.
If you were to let her drive, she would not
learn the lesson of taking care of personal business although it is
usually a hard lesson to learn. I believe we have family to help us
develop into productive, well adjusted, happy individuals. Tough love helps us get there. You weren't being "tough," rather you were being smart and mature. You were exercising a freedom totally within your right and reason.
Good but hard decison. She'll understand soon enough.

You're not being selfish, you're being smart to not let her drive your car. Without a license, she has no business driving anyone's car. If she wants a car bad enough, she can do what you did. Buy one for herself just like you bought one for yourself.
