They are correct about the poor man's copyright but it will not stand up in court. It doesn't really cost that much to have something copyrighted. The last I heard the fee was around $15. I figure it's still under $20

Make a recording on tape/CD then mail it to your self.
When you get it back NEVER open it.
Put it in a safe place.
If someone else steals or records what you wrote take the mailed copy to a judge

THE POST DATE (the # the post office puts on the stamp when they get a letter) SHOULD HOLD UP IN COURT

Send what ever you have to yourself and don't open it. Wehn it comes back to you it will prove when you created it. But make sure you don't OPEN it.
