John Wayne in his career and life aspired to a legend & upheld many facets of life i.e. honesty, humour, principle and many other virtues which he engendered in his life and the roles he portrayed. My question is: What in your opinion and why were his best movies?

Love the "Duke"! he was a mans man in my opinion..His acting was stereo typed but he even delivered great performances other than western movies..Alot of people imitate him but none can come close to accomplishing all he did in his work..RIP..=)..True Grit,Donovans Reef, actually I liked all his movies..=)

I grew up with a mother who was in love with John Wayne and my dad thought that John Wayne was the man. I have seen all of his movies and I love all of them. My favorite movie has to be one of his last movies, "The Cowboys".

I have no opinion of John Wayne that you would want to hear. I think he was a male chauvanist from the word go.
