Your doctor. After a doctor has prescribed the medication, he occasionally gets to see the patient again to see if the medication is making progress. He has a way to evaluate whether or not a drug is making plausible effect.

The pharmacists do not have this type of direct evaluating.

The pharmacist ,The doctor is rewarded by writing prescriptions for certain drug companies.Do you really think Viagra got popular on its own ?
When a new drug hits the market ,the doctor receives samples and a promise of a kick back with every prescription he writes.
The pharmacist knows the proven and safe drugs and is very cautious with new drugs entering the market.
Remember VIOX ?

A chemist would know because he works with drugs all day. Doctors just sit around writing illegible notes. Up until the 50s' people used to go to a Chemist. Doctors were only seen as a last measure.

well i have learned that i do not trust to many of them anymore...a doctor gives you a prescription and you ask the pharmacy and he says well they give this medicine for several different reasons...what did that help... i would get another opinion... i have been on so much medicine in my life and i trusted doctors and now i have renal kidney insufficiency.. i think the less medicine you take the better....i am not a doctor and did not have a degree , i just trusted doctors and should not have i guess...but who is suffering for this... me...so i hope this helps you some anyway...

Pharmacist. I an a Pharmacy tech. and I can't tell you hapw many times we've had to call the doctor explainning to them why the certain drug they prescribed to the patient is wrong for them. There are drug interactions and too high of a dosage they prescribe.

if the doctor is very exprienced and knowledgable, specially if he is a pediatriatian cuz they are more exprienced with giving drugs and changing doses. but in any case i would trust a doctor, cuz pharmacists do know alot about drugs, but doctors know why they work, how they work, what else they effect. i would deff go with the doctors word over the pharmacisits, thats if the doctor is serious and conscious about his decision....

Doctor - the pharmacist may know the chemicals, but I would prefer the Doctor cause he would be able to diagnose my disease.
