I am romanian and i can't understand what is a gypsy.Please explain.

lol, Me! I'm a Gypsy.
The most commonly accepted answer is that "Gypsy" is another name for a Romanian person.
However it is also said that a Gypsy is a wandering person, someone without a definate stay in one place home.
Others believe that a Gypsy is a Romanian person with The Gift. That only those with The Gift are to be considered Gypsy.

Seriously, you should read this on-line essay written by fantasy author Terri Windling. It's very detailed and well researched.
An excerpt:
"In Romania, Gypsy families were bought and sold as field and household slaves. This legal slavery, similar to the enslavement of Africans in America, only ended in the mid-19th century -- a fact that is shockingly little known today, even in Romania itself. I can't believe a Romanian does not know what a Gyspy is. There are so many in Eastern Europe. ? I know what you are fishing for and I will not give you an answer.

Sure seems to be a lot of confusion as to just who the Gypsy is. Different places have different ideas it seems. I will not attempt to classify them.

Those are people of Egyptian origins. They had no land of their own because they used to move around a lot and now are everywhere. They accept the cultures of the country they live in but also have their own... and they don't easily change their lifestyles... in my country they mostly live in slums...

Gypsy este la fel ca ţigan în româna, este o etnie cu aproximativ aceleaşi tradiţii şi obiceiuri ca şi ale rromilor, au o muzică specifica (muzică latino foarte puternică, explozivă la fel ca şi caracterul celor care o cântă) şi o culoare a pielii puţin mai închisă.
