hey guys, erm i really need some help, its my girlfriends 18th birthday today, last night we had a row, which i know i messed up i know i was wrong, i understand that and have said so, i held up my hands, admitted the mistake, and said sorry - the reason of the row was i mis understood something said, and took it the wrong way,so i could not do more than that, today she has been i dunno a bit more cheerfull, but not her self, and i understand her for being pissed off, i think the presebnt os going to piss her off she said don't spend anything over £30 - but um i spent £150 - i see her tonight and i'm wondering what i can do to make it up to her, i love her so much, she is everything to me, i'm scared i've ruined her special day, i don't wanna i wanna make it up to her

awesome last bout of answer's guys, thank you so much, i've kinda figured i'll do everything i can tonight to make it special for her, while having my hair cut today, the barber told me 'hope you got her something special, your only 18 once' and he's right, as are a lot of you guys, i'll just go and spoil her :D i know we wont have much time together, but what we do hjave i'm gonna make sure its the best time of day, thank you guys

I think you're so sweet. I wish Id had a caring boyfriend like you when I was 18. I think you've more than proved your love for her by trying to apologise to her etc. Although money cant buy love I think she'll be more than happy and fogive you when she sees your present. You'll far from ruin her big day, to be honest she's probably worried about her big day and needs to let off some steam by arguing with you. Take everything she says with a smile.

Sit her down today and say to her that you know you have upset her and that you are truly sorry. Tell her that you didn't intend to overspend but that it'snot every day somebody turns 18, you love her so dearly that you made a stupid mistake and spent the money because you thought she would really love the gift you got her more, and that you like to see her happy. Say that you realise that an expensive gift is not going to make her love you more or less and that it was a silly thing to do.
tell her that if she really wants to, you can take it back to the shop or sell it on eBay and get the money back
Say what you said here, and that you only want her to be happy and would never dream of ruining her special day intentionally.
make sure that she knows you think you have been a silly man but that your intentions were good. In future listen to what she says more carefully and respect her wishes.

Well all I can say is if she likes flowers take some when you see her tonight And plan on doing a lot of groveling. The gift? well I think give it to her later in the evening when she has had dinner etc. It should be OK, most girls always tell you 'don't spend too much' but are happy if you don't really listen. either way she will I think love the gift

Sounds like you really love her. Maybe you should say exactly wht you've just typed here, no girl isn't going to be mad with you when they realise that you care so much and the situation has worried you. Say you don't want to ruin her special day, and that you're sorry you argued and it was your fault. Give her the present and say you couldn't help but buy it because you knew she would make it even more beautiful.

if it's a good present I'm sure she'll forget whatever it was that u did wrong! maybe she's just a little depressed coz she's turned 18 and it's not good all this getting older malarkey! luckily u pissed her off the day before so technically u haven't ruined her day you have said sorry and she's the one choosing to carry it on so if she has a **** day its her fault! unless u have done something really bad like killed her kitten! or worse cheated on her!
just shower her with compliments and pressies and she'll love ya forever! oh and a good **** at the end of the night ; )

Errr.....heck if my bf spend 150 pounds on my birthday present, I'll be really happy, why would she get more pissed off? Cuz she told you no more than 30 pounds? She may seem a little irritated but I'm sure the present will put a smile on her face again

return the present, get your money back, make her some "love coupons" give her some cash.
