I lived in Europe for several years, Naples Italy. And I currently live in Thailand. I have never got a fake phone # outside of the States. Don't give me any crap about girls wanting to go to America, my Thai girlfriend makes more money than I do. Why do American women give fake #s? Are they too weak and fragile to simply say they are not interested? Do they do it just to be nasty? Do they think it's funny?

A very important note: Most guys do not make advances on women unless she gave him some kind of signal to advance. Mabye American women don't want to admit what part they play in this game.

No excuses about guys stalking! In the rest of the world if a guy wants to get laid all he has to do is go pay for it. This is not a joke! I've never had an American woman that was better than a cheap hooker in Bangkok!

It probably has to do with your approach toward women. American women are smart, and can tell when you are being insincere or if you are just "wanting" something from them. Be too foreward, and you'll get a fake number every time.

Well, I can tell you why I would give a fake number. Most females have that sympathy thing going on, which causes us to imagine what it'd be like to have a girl tell you that she is not interested. We then reason that it'd be easier on the male ego to assume that we either gave the wrong number by accident, or that we are bitches and they didn't want our number anyways. It's all out of love, really!

(Tip: If the number begins with 555, it's always a fake.)

I would give you a fake phone number, and for an address I'd give you the local police station. One cannot be too safe, can one?
I do this to Nigerian scammers and they just love it.

Most likely they don't feel comfortable telling you they find you unappealing... and just want to say something that will make you go away without having to witness your reaction to rejection.
