I bought my dad this really cool Civil War Chess set (he's a history buff), and got him a gift card for Barnes and Nobles (he's also a bibliophile). We're all going camping that weekend-him, mom, me and my siblings, and our families-so I'm just gonna enjoy spending the weekend with him on the river, talking about old memories, and making new ones.

I'll be baking my dad a cake and most likely make him his favorite dinner.
My brother and I will probably go and get a movie from blockbuster, and the whole family will enjoy a peaceful evening ( finally).

We're delaying it for a week because I have certification dives (he's cool with it). My brother and I will spend time with him and probably buy him a gift card if we don't find anything else soon. We already bought tickets to a show in November so that's part of his gift too.

Not sure. My Dad will not be in the same city as I.
But if he was I would take him to dinner and a beer. And buy him a gift certificate at his favorite department store.
That should make him happy.

UNFORTUNATELY, my Father died, Aug 10, 2004.... My Grandfather died, Oct. 02, 2005.... And, if "that" weren't enough, my dog, of 13 years (A beautiful red-haired, blue-eyed, Siberian Husky) died, May 30, 2006 -- so I'll, probably, "do nothing"!
{If you look, at my "Avatar", Annie Mae, you'll see that - like me - he is sad! It was very difficult, watching her die, in front of me, knowing that I'd, never, see her again! She had "CHARACTER"!}

I have no idea. My dad is the hardest person for me to shop for. I have no clue of what to get him. I think I might have to go for the ol' shirt and tie.

My Father and my husband died, so we will go visit their graves at Ft. Richardson in Anchorage. They did not die in the war, but were veterans.
