For that matter, is anyone else sick of hearing anything about football whatsoever. Christ it's a boring game.

I am!! Having just watched the Eng. v Trin-Tob match, I can say that the world has gone officially Rooney-obsessed. I enjoy watching the odd world cup game, but this year, the hype around Rooney, is really starting to grate on my teeth!

Comments during his first match since damaged foot absence, AND afterwards:

'They needed him to shake things up'
'Boy wonder: back in action'
'The caged lion'
'Sven's most precious commodity'
'Fate of World Cup, depends on him - only him'
'No hope without him'

This is pretty much - and MUCH more - what the commentators were ranting about in the 2nd half. It almost made me SICK! Couldn't the commentators find someone else to talk about, like the people who scored? Crouch and Gerrard, or even the team's very own Cap'n Beckham. They seem to have forgotten about him. Rooney, Rooney, Rooney .... AARRGG!!

Well seems to me that Rooney does not add anything to England football but loosing Rooney i think England will be doomed as you said. Rooney is a good player for some people especially fans of man u although am one of the fans of man u but of lately i think that Rooney is not on the track well and he does not play well this season although he have been scoring but that is not enough as a striker so think even if he is rude out for injury statement that is not bad at all. He should first take medical and the rest should be left behind. England will do well without Rooney so go England and long live man u. Victory!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

Yes I am. People keep giving him credit he does not deserve. True he is a very good player but he can be such a bore!

But I don't agree, soccer is not boring, in fact it's the best game on earth!

not really. he's the most dynamic and well rounded player the english has to offer, plus he has a temper to boot, which is always fodder for tabloids. he's interesting and good for gossip so no.

footnote: football is not boring. and i suggest you stop saying that unless you want to get stomped, studs out.
