I just got a used nintendo DS and heard you can plug directly into computer and download games from pc to DS, is that true ,what parts do i need to make that happen or am i misinformed?

Never heard of that. The Wifi allows online play, and you need an adapter. Maybe thats where the downloads come from?

The wifi connection online uses your computer connection to play against people online. In the future I'm sure many downloads and updates may be available

You might be misinformed. But there is a possibility that might work. As far as I know, when using the wifi connection, you need a computer.
