Like many, I ask the same question to myself often.

According to my experiences and deduction through years of depression and anxiety disorder, the very essence seems to be the heart. Heart would be the engine of the car, mind is but a mere steering wheel. No pushing energy and the mind is almost useless.
Yet the balance is very delicate. Decisionmaking without either one of them often ends in failure.

No mind: disappointment
No heart: disbelief, boredom etc.

Just a basic example involving buying stuff.

We feel attracted to a product whether it's a tool or a luxury product or whatever.

Decisionmaking with heart leads us to buy the product right away

Thinking and seeing how necessary it actually is can slow us down even realise it's not very necessary.

Also spending some time resisting the urge to buy that particular product may make that attraction go away

However,

We are human, thus I don't find either one of the methods to be the ideal "solution"
Suppresing the natural urges too much may end in retraction from life.
Deciding with heart all the time may eventually lead to failure. This one is rather known and thought.

Let's just not forget to trust our instincts and how important heart is when working, enjoying, relaxing etc. None can be done easily just by persuading yourself with your mind all the time.

"Live with your heart work with your mind" sounds interesting. But, the mind is the center of all the bodily senses. Some say the mind is the sense within.

The "heart" must be referring to something deeper than the mind. The heart must be referring to the psyco-emotions. But, what about the "heart of hearts"?

Is the heart our emotions, but what about our soul?

According to the Bhagavad Gita As It Is the intelligence is higher than the mind, but the intelligence is still vulnerable to material infection. One needs to get on the spiritual platform of consciousness to rise above all material infection.

Material infection means lust, anger and greed getting out of control. Material infection means becoming more like animals.

Either or both depending on your state of mind at one given point.you can go through life withou rationalizing things that is happening or you can might wna tot find a deeper meaning to what is going on, What something makes one happy is not logical but what is sometimes rational makes you suffer or give you hearaches. sometimes you have to deny yourself with what is appealing to you heart in order to gain grounds. History is laden of sacrifices and denials to gain what is today enjoyed by so many people. To choose whta to do when confused detachment yourself from it all be an observer for once and keenly see how things are going and you can see a clearer perspective.

well,if u lived by your heart there is a possibility that something can go wrong, because usually you can not see the logic or reason behind the consequences example early marriage.if u lived by your mind then everything would work out fine, because it's based on rationality, everything is in order u are on the right path i mean.
