Its your main email . For example, if you have an aol email, and a yahoo email, the one you use most you would want to be your default email client.

You can view and change this in Windows by opening Internet Explorer and following this menu path:
Tools >> Internet Options >> Programs tab >> Email
If you do not have any application selected in this box, clicking on a "mailto" link on a web page produces the following IE error box:
"Could not perform this operation because the default mail client is not properly installed."

I think it Outlook in MS windows etc etc
it means which software you use to send and receive eamil.there may be 2 one will be default who is main software.
