It depends on what you mean by Black. If you mean extremely dark like those in Central & Sub-Saharan Africa or Tamil Nadu I would say they are historically incorrect. But I have no problem with someone making God someone who they can Identify with. They are also more correct than those who portray Jesus as a white, blond blue-eyed person with straight hair.

Part of it may be in retailatin for having this white portrayal of God forced upon us for so long.

However Jesus was Hebrew and from the middle east, spending time in Egypt. So more than likely he was brown with dark hair, eyes and with a curly texture ("Like Wool" the scriptures say). In the US people who have this kind of appearnce are often also called Black. (Due to the fact that Black Americans are such a mixed people). So if this is what they are portraying then it is actually historically accurate.

I think these sects are free to represent Jesus and or God in any color they choose. America is after all a free country which includes the freedom to worship god in any fashion they like.

The bible represents that man was created by God in his own image. So from this literal perspective they may be justified. The bible makes little reference to skin color generally. However, as the bible is a book of faith as opposed to a book of fact; one should be generally cautious of literal interpretations of it's texts.

Christs actual skin color is of no real consequence, but rather his teachings of love and respect of god and all mankind should be considered paramount.

Jesus may have very well been black at the very least brown--he certainly was not the angelic feminine faced man that you see in so many christian bibles ... truth is .. i dont care if Jesus, God , Allah or ? is black... Im just glad that He is

What does it matter what other people believe? We all have the right to believe what we want. Is it really that important that everyone believe the same things? Jesus and God can be purple with green and pink spots for all I care, that would'nt change my faith in them!

I believe that if the race of Jesus had been important it would have been stated as to why it was important Jesus died for all mankind and his race is of no consequence. I unlike you believe in the deity of Jesus therefore it is of even less consequence his race but of much more his deity since my salvation depends on this.

i'm black, and do not trust Jesus is black, nor do i trust he's not white both. i imagine black people have a difficulty with seeing Jesus portrayed with blue eyes and blond hair. in accordance to his delivery geographically He would have olive epidermis and darkish hair. also do it actual remember what color Santa is. I mean he's clearly a fictional personality.

the color of God and Jesus are not important. We are created in God's image, meaning we have the same qualities he has. We just do not use them like we should. God made us different in looks, i.e. color, height, size but inside we are all the same and that is what is important
