Enid Blyton was our 'must read' and so today's children or adults (I have read all the Potter books) thrive on the adventures of Harry Potter. Different ear as, I think the children of Blyton's days were more easily satisfied with simple pleasures, whereas today's kids are a 'must have now' and bow very low to peer pressure. They are not as free spirited as we were.
