I asked 'Why can fat people get handicap stickers but pregnant people can't."

Why do people just assume that I'm permiscuous because I'm pregnant. Why do people assume that I want a handicap sticker or that I don't like to walk? I love walking and exercising. People also assume that I'm naturally skinny. My whole family is big, but I'm not. I work out and eat healthy foods because I don't want to be fat. I wasn't saying that it wasn't healthy for pregnant people to walk because I know it is. But shouldn't the fat people walk too? It's healthy for them too. It is their fault that they are like that, I don't believe for one minute that people can't help being overweight, because that's a battle that I win everyday of my life.

I never said I couldn't help from being pregnant. I chose to be that way. And about 'big' people having an illness, my entire family is fat. But I work out so I'm not like them. I don't think I'm better than anybody, I never said that.

As for where fat people get stickers from. They sure as hell get them from Indiana, where I'm from. We also do not have special expectant mom spaces.

I didn't know that obese people could get handicap stickers!? That is such a waste; if anyone needs to be walking it should be them. But I saw at the mall that there is parking reserved for expecting moms in the spaces where the handicapped park. If this helps...

Instead of calling people "fat" you should say overweight.

I was always taught that what you make fun of it will come back on you.
This one girl made fun of this handicapped girl and when she got pregnant she had a handicapped kid herself.

I don't believe for one minute that people can't help from getting pregnant.

Some people were born big and some was born small

Being smaller don't make you no better than a bigger person

I have never seen a heavy set person have a handicapp sticker and i think pregnant women can walk without complaining.

if this is such an issue go try and do something about it in your state.
I have never in my life heard anyone complain about handicapp stickers.
and oh yea they are not free my father in law that is disabled from being crushed in the mines (he is not big) has a handicapp sign and he has said it costed him 50 bucks so it isnt free maybe it is where you are from

The next time you go to a store ask someone to let you ride around in the store wheelchair since pregnancy is a disability

In one parking lot where i live they have 2 or 3 reserved parking spots for pregnant (diableling condtion) and new mothers
But when i was pregnant or after i had my baby i never once parked in those spots cause to me that was just plain dumb

Not everyone chooses to be fat. Some really do have medical issues. My step Mom was beautifully skinny till her early 20's. Then she developed a thyroid prpblem and very quickly grew to a huge size. She ended up eventually getting her stomach stapled to get the weight off. It was causing so many other health problems that the weight was dangerous. So now she had to take pills the rest of her life. And she eats like a bird, but is still nowhere near a size 10. So its good that excersice works for you, but it doesn't for everyone.
I have a friend that has been under medical care for several years over her weight. She's not huge, but she's big. Even eating healthy and going to the gym daily doesn't change her weight as much as a pound. I on the other hand, ballooned up to 192 and couldn't take it any longer. I'm now down to 168 and getting it off slowly without diets or pills. Please don't just blast fat people. There are actually some that eat better than you and still cannot shed the pounds.
I'm sure some fat people get stickers because they are so big they cannot carry their own weight. A human's legs just aren't meant to carry a 500 pound body around. So they are more prone to hip and knee injuries. They have an eating disease and deserve your pity, not your anger. And I agree, walking is good for the fat , pregnant, skinny, all of us. But people will still wait in line 5 minutes with a blinker on to get 5 spaces closer to a store.

I'm going to address your central issue: "why can fat people get handicap stickers but pregnant people can't"
Firstly, handicap License plates are authorized by Doctors Recommendation (usually due to an obvious or underlying medical condition) so don't all overweight people have these special plates. You admit that you like to walk and exercise so there seems to be no medical problems with your pregnancy, you should leave the handicapped plates for those with real problems like cancer, emphysema, heart conditions etc. and be thankful that you're healthy...good luck on a healthy pregnancy...and get more positive minded.

To answer your question, my guess would be becuase pregnancy isn't a handicap, and generally doesn't prevent women from walking/doing things as normal. While obesity isn't a handicap either, really, I have seen some overweight people who were so large, it prevented them from walking.

I wouldn't assume that NO pregnant women can get stickers...I'm sure somewhere down the line, some have gotten them.

Have you actually gone up and asked these people if they have the sticker because they are fat or are you just presuming? Maybe you don't realise they have a non-visible disability. I have a sticker because I have a hip disability and I need the wider space to open my door fully as my leg can't bend properly. Do you know how much it pisses me off that people like you pressume i shouldn't have a sticker as
1. I'm young and
2. my disability is not visable imediatly.
Being pregnant is not a disability.
If your area does provide stickers for OVERWEIGHT people then take your issues up with them. Get them to change their rules

I didnt' know fat people could get handicap stickers. Man, that's some bs! Cause you know all it takes is excercise. Unlike a blind eye or a broken leg or something. Man, I'm gonna write a letter to the Governor! As if he'd do anything about it. j/k

Well they get fat stickers because of an illness caused from being fat, not because they are fat. Are you kidding me if these stickers got handed out to every fat person the parapalegics would be parking 2 miles away.

I totally agree with You!

With our increasingly lazy, gotta-have-it-to-go-now, overweight society...There's no way these people should be able to obtain Handicapped Passes!

I think the Government should focus their Next Tax Increases...Not on their usual sources: Gas, Booze & Cigarettes,...But on Potato Chips and Twinkies!...Tax the Fat!!!

And, just like those signs at Carnivals & Fairs - That say, " You Must be This Tall " in order to ride.....They should have signs in Parking Lots - That say, " If Your *** is This Wide, Please Park in Rear!" (pun fully intended!)
