Eventually everything comes to an end - just like WW1 & 2. The war is in Iraq, Afghanstan, Palestine and in many other countries.
Iraqis did not start the war, they were invaded under false reasons (which have been changed by the occupiers to suit each circumstance) and the only thing any invaded nation / people can and must do is fight back and free their land.
Secular fighting between the sunnis and shi'ites is no different the fighting between the north & south in the States, the reasons though, may vary.
Stability in the region and not just Iraq can only be established when the Palestinian / Israeli conflict is sorted out and the whole world recognizes and admits the Palestinian's right to exist, Israel stops the genocide against the Palestinians and the "west" just simply stop their economic and military invasion of the region.
Once this can be acheived, I do believe that all nations can live in peace.
This war is just like another Vietnam. People just do not learn learn from their mistakes.

No bush will continue the fight, personally I think that bush should have let them kill each other off. I hardly think that that region is going to remain stable. It never was stable in the past and it never wiil..
