I don't know the exact figures, but rapes there often go unreported due to the shame and disgrace placed on the family. Also, it is a woman's word against a man's....men's word carries more weight. Women also are less apt to go into risque situations or dress in a provocative way due to their religious vies. However, I will point out that during the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait and during the Muslim advances prior to the great Crusades, women were repeatedly raped and/or killed. It was a way to add further shame to the people. Disgusting really! Hope this helps a bit.

It's amazing where these answers all came from, esp' the Egypt one about licking hot stones!
I have worked in many Muslim countries all over the world (5 years in Egypt) which isnt as strict as many Muslim countries but no hot stone licking!!
I have seen people in Saudi walking into and out of banks carrying thousands of bank notes, I never heard of any robberies!
Most punishment for crimes of any description are carried out in public, so it would be difficult to conceal the fact that a crime had been commited, and certainly the Saudis would not want to conceal the punishment, thats the main thing that keeps the crime rate well down.
And if the West followed suit and chopped off a few heads in public we would have a lot less rapes and child abuse here don't you think??
So the really truthfull answer to your question is Yes there are a lot less rapes in Muslim countries!!

Sat-sri-akal penji, I agree Islam has many unfavorable issues about it as a faith, so i'm no longer protecting it, besides the indisputable fact that from what i understand, that isn't any longer continuously about Islam affirming women people aren't to any extent further equivalent. Muslims trust Allah created 2 genders and Muslim women people do have equivalent non secular household initiatives, besides the indisputable fact that Islam argues women people are 'susceptible' from the devotion necessary in childbirth, nursing and baby-rearing therefore women people should be secure through adult males. besides the indisputable fact that i'm able to't settle for any faith that denies lady rights or sees them as inferior. that is why I followed Sikhi very last three hundred and sixty 5 days. Waheguru ji ka khalsa, waheguru ji ki fateh.

I would assume there are probably more, because women have few rights, if any, in those countries. For example in Egypt, if a man accuses his wife of cheating on him, she has to lick a burning stone. If her tongue gets burned, she faces death. If her tongue is normal, the judges interpret this to be a sign from God that she is innocent.

There are definitely less reported because the victims don't want to be stoned to death.

Likely not, but the victim is punished more than the criminal in some cases.
