i'm 28 and almost 7 years ago, i had a life threatening illness and came within an hour of dying. the few weeks after this situation were all a bit of a blur, a bit of shock, i had to recover etc etc.

but then .... then i started to realise how lucky i was to be alive. it wasn't the easiest realisation in the world, esp. at 22 years old. at an age when most people think they're invincible, i was totally aware that we're not. that one day, through no choice of my own, i would die. and you know what? i'm not scared. i'm not necessarily looking forward to it, but for me, it's knowing how fragile our existence is that encourages me to live my life to the fullest.

every day above ground is a good day sunshine. don't forget it.

Personally think that humans are pictures in the surface of earth, which vanish from the continuous sun-rays and the dust of time. Every second in life gives them the opportunity for redrawing and redrawing this picture, by making it more difficult to vanish and easier to reflect the true meaning of life, which is understood in the end, but is not the end. The 'final destination' takes this opportunity away! Why would you choose it?

The whole point of life is death I'm afraid. Life, or humans in this case, need to die in order for there to be progression. Without the desire to kill and create we'd be nothing, it's all quite wonderfully futile. Until you smile when you ask this question I'd try not to think about it too much. I myself don't ever want to die. The opposite of your question. I know I will die, I know I have to die. I still don't want to

First of all, that's a really pessimistic question...

Many of us are not sure of what comes after death and are afraid that there is no other time to do what one wants to do, so they go ahead and do it.

Regardless of the suffering, one will strive to live for the reason that he or she wants to make money, become famous, know more, feel accomplished, prepare for the afterlife, help others, etc., and it suddenly makes up for the downs and suffering of life.

OR HOW ABOUT MOST PEOPLE ARE AFRAID OF DEATH!!!!

Yeah, we're gonna die someday, but why not have all the fun we can have until then, Life's too short to worry about the little things. This is the question I ask myself:Who'll give a dang(expletive works better) about all this in 100 years, will they even remember my name, Then I usually do it. You know the last thing a redneck says before he dies? Hey, Ya'll watch isss!

Wow...another emo kid questioning why people want to live. Sad really. Anyway. Why ask questions about life if you're destined to die? If you're so up on death, why are you wasting your time asking idiot questions on Yahoo?

Why not enjoy life since you were destined to live.

Because every journey [life is called a journey] needs certain resting spots and Death is one of them. Try and look forward to what comes after that.

Exactly!
If you're suffering there is a way out.
If not, the question is irrelevant.
