Think about the last election. Which issues were the dominant ones in the campaigns:
Republicans - Gay Marriage, a "culture of life" , Terry Schaivo, faith-based initiatives, terrorism, war in Iraq
Democrats - government corruption, protecting the environment, affordable health care and better schools, terrorism, war in Iraq
Both parties use religion as a tool ot get elected. Republicans tend to stick to single issues, while Democrats tend to work at broad concepts.
Politicians cannot seperate themselves from their beliefs. It is what makes them who they are. The problem is when they try to force issues that are strictly religion-based, and not based on the betterment of the nation.
Where is the "seperation of Church and State" better displayed? Neither party, although the Democrats do a better job of hiding it.
Take a single issue - Gay marriage. It is based on Old Testament Christian philosophy. There are no "legal" grounds to oppose it, just religious ones. The Bible does
not explicitly "say" gay marriage is prohibitted, just that
the acts committed during a homosexual relationship are an abomination.
One of the "big issues" for Democrats was health care. Who doesn't remember "Mary Ann Knowles", the woman with breast cancer who had to keep working through chemo to keep her health insurance? Affordable, univeral heath insurance is based on Christian principles, too, but indirectly - caring for those with less.
So Democrats try to enforce Christian "liberal" principles, and Republicans try to enforce strict Christian law.

Democrats try to force lack of religion on you.
next they will try to remove the crosses from Arlington!
As long as the government does not Establish a religion than I think we should stop the witch hunt.
I think both party's understand and follow the intent and the letter of the Constitution on this issue. The Democrats go beyond that so if you want "more separation between Church and State" the answer is the Democrats.
Republicans are separate from the church
Democrats are the enemy of the church
I'm sorry that was vary partisan.

I think it depends on the individual person, but as a party I would say the Democrats tend to try to keep religion and state as separate as possible. Sometimes they go overboard, while the Republicans tend to pander to the ultra religious in times they need their votes.
Plus I would like to say if you are going to call a group of people dumb, you might want to atleast make your statement intelligent, but that's just my opinion.

I would say with the democrats. My theory is that the ultra or hyper form of liberalism ends up being anarchy, and I'm not trying to be partisan in saying that.

If I were writing that, i'd go decrease back by heritage. I presume you're american, so in case you look into how the govenrment and structure were shaped, you'll discover the church grow to be consistently the biggest impact on the political beliefs. satirically contained in the modern-day, the US, it truly is the most strongly christian united states contained in the international, tries to maintain that there is a distinction between church and state, yet each and every little thing about american is christian. The president has to declare himself to be a operating in the route of christian as a way to be elected. he can not talk out in favour of abortion for worry of upsetting the non secular appropriate, a similar those who maintian the right to possess deadly guns. the military has guns with christian inscriptions on them, and each and each and every banknote bears the words "in God we believe".

Either will use the issue to further their goals so there is no realistic difference between church & state with either of them.
What they say in public has no effect on what they actually do. Most of their public rhetoric is intended for the masses and is unrelated to what they intend to do for their real constituents (political donors).

Democrats.
For unbiased information just look at how much money Bush has spent (well given is more accurate) to religious groups over any other president. This is because of who his base is, we'll its more accurate to say because of who his republican base is.

Dumbocrats of course. They read what it meant the wrong way. Schools were safe, no guns, teachers were stealing our kids with sex. They took God and morals out and there went safety.
