my understanding is that Illuminati is simply the old term for the greater conspiracy. masons may simply be a large piece of the puzzle but they are the "new" name now. Actually, the bigger picture is that satan is pulling the strings via devil worshipping and occult, which is a part of the rituals they undergo in order to be a member of the very few elite who strive for a new world order.

I am a Mason, and I can assure you that President Bush is not a member of the fraternity. He is a member of a secret society at Yale called the Skull and Bones.
As for the illuminati, they existed in Bavaria, but disbanded long ago in 1786, after only 10 years of existence.
