Hi
My problem regarding the vision:m is that it is not
detected in "My Computer" as a portable device or
whatever. The thing is, I know it's connected
properly because firstly i can see it and secondly
the windows noise comes up to tell you that it has
detected hardware and when it is taken out the
noise of a device being removed sounds. However,
the noise when it is plugged in is not the usual
one - this one starts off normal then "stutters"
but not as if it is malfunctioning. I know the
software is installed correctly because i have
been using it for close to 3 months. Another thing
is the vision:m doesnt start charging when plugged
in or go to the usb connected screen. The vision:
m is running perfectly when not in computer and
perfectly when connected to the computer (as it
doesnt change to connection mode). I also looked
in your knowledge base the answer of logging on as
administrator and changing **** around didnt work.

i have restarted my computer countless times and changed which usb port the cord goes in and windows media player still doesnt recognise it, creative media explorer still doesnt recognise it, and "my computer" still doesnt recognise it, the vision m now charges but doesnt switch to the usb connect mode i cant afford i cant just use another computer either, all my stuff is on this one. iwould also like to make it clear that other devices work in the usb ports and the vision m has been detected in other computers and YES i have tried reinstalling the software and checking the creative knowledge base and even emailed a customer help representive none of these worked (the help representive didnt seem to know a thing - useless). now if this has happened to anyone else please give me your solution, i would greatly appreciate it, i have lots of files to load and cant at the moment this is my only mp3 player so i cant just work it some other time and listen to a cheap crappy mp3. please help

1) do you have USB 2.0 or 1.1? If you have 2.0 you dont need the charger, BUt if you have 1.1 you need the charger attached.

2) i made the mistake of unplugging it from the computer when it wasn t done syncing and i had that proplem. the solution: reinstall the firmware here: http://us.creative.com/support/downloads/download.asp?sOSName=Windows+XP®ion=1&Product_Name=ZEN+Vision%3AM&Product_ID=14331&modelnumber=&driverlang=1033&OS=10&drivertype=0&Image4.x=18&Image4.y=7

And thats about it

I'm sure your device came with a software CD but if it didn't try to sync the device with Windows Media Player, because Creative Zen Micro is a part of Windows Plays For Sure so put all the media in Windows Media then try to sync it. IF ALL THIS DIDN'T WORK YOU HAVE TO RESTART YOUR COMPUTER!

that was my problem 2. i ask this guy that owns his own computer place, he said try a different USB place. that didn't work so he said i probaly needed a special cable 'cause the mp3 couldn't draw enough power from the USB. the cable has 3 USBs, u plug 1 into the mp3 and 2 into the computer. couldn't find them so i just uploaded songs at his computer place it's also an internet cafe.
