If it is a listed company, you can come to know of its all official details from the stock exchange where it is listed or SEBI's website or the Registrar of Companies' Office (ROC) of the jurisdiction where it has its registered office.

If it is not a listed company, only ROC can give official details of the company.

Alternatively, you can check company's master data at http://www.mca.gov.in/ if updated, as the process is on by TCS.

You may seek confidential report from their bankers' as well, if they oblige you!!!
