I love classical music! It is the inspiration for the best types music out there, in my opinion. First of all, I can find a classical piece for almost anything. If I want to relax, Ill play something like Pachelbel's Canon. It is very soothing, especially since I have a copy of it with included ocean sounds. If I feel pissed, agitated, or some tense emotion, Vivaldi does the trick for me. Concerto No. 6 in A minor, RV 356 III. Presto from his four seasons concert is awesome. For just plain entertainment, I listen to classical guitar. Tárrega has very cool pieces, like Cappricio Arabe. As for providing inspiration for modern music... Listen to many 80's shred bands. The soloing is purely classical scales. Yngwie Malmsteen, who still tours to this day, has really good classical shred. Other classically inspired music is a lot slower pop songs with classical piano. Overall, I think classical music is the best type of music today. That is just my opinion, but I'll bet my money that there are many who will agree with me.

I love classical music not so much for what it is, but being a musician, it happens to be one of the best tools for developing technique on an instrument. Bach is the man for me although after the Baroque period, his music was considered to be old hat stuff. Not so!!! His inventions, studies, and fugues will bestow monstrous chops upon any keyboardist who studies his music. Those that call it boring have their ears growing out the back of their behind.

I find classical music to be nice background music while I'm studying. I believe there is even research that suggests classical music stimulates your intelligence.

I think most classical music is amazing. I am not a big fan of Bach, mainly because I am not that into the Baroque period. I think the most beautiful pieces came from the Romantic period.

I love classical music - especially Grieg, Mozart, Tchaikovsky. The range of emotions expressed is unmatched with any other style of music.

my personal opinion on classical music is it is really boring music, but it has provided a great base for other types of music.

It is one of the many types I like. I don't enjoy slow moving music, but most classical is quite nice. I enjoy Grieg, very much.

As the others indicated, I find it very relaxing. I do prefer string quartets or solo pieces over orchestral classical, however.
(Same applies to Jazz for me.) Rock & Country are my favorites.
