I would give a resounding "YES!". If you are already currently earning such an amount, you may like to know there is a vast majority of hard-working, honest, and self-sacrificing people in this country who may never in their lives reach this stratospheric level of income, however hard they try. Please live within your means if you have the fortune to be earning so much. I would urge you to contribute actively to charities. I have witnessed many, many pitiful cases of young and old who struggle so valiantly with less than $500 per month. Thank you.

A six figure salary would be considered very good today. The average salary in US still hovers around 40,000 annual. The median is a little better.
According to both, a recent survey by eWeek and, an earlier survey by Money magazine (earlier this year or late last year) the best jobs in the U.S. are in the Information technology sector. An IT analyst or programmer's can make a maximum of just over 100,000 with some years of experience. These surveys take into account several other factors (like job satisfaction, hours of work, ease of entering the profession, etc) than just the salary offered by these jobs , but it gives a good idea of where the maximum salaries lie.

Depends on where you live. In Los Angeles, it is not enough to buy a nice house. In other areas like Plano, Texas, that salary could buy you a mansion.

All things being equal, consider this: Top law school graduates made $100,000 fresh out of school in 1996. Today, they make closer to $160,000.

While $100,000 is still a good salary, it is not a "wealthy" salary.

Of course it is. I live below the poverty level and still get by, so six figures would be more than ample.

it depends on where and how you live. if you are renting a home in the most expensive part of the city and keep your self living in expensive conditions, then it could be tough to live on that...But if you are living in a moderate area and watch what you spend you can become quite wealthy on that kind of money.
