After a good run I feel great. I love being outside and seeing the scenery and feeling the elements. One of my idols is also Steve Prefontaine who is, hands down, the best American distance runner in history... And I get motivation from him and everything he accomplished.

My brother was a runner. It was because of his excess weight he earned when he was high-school. He decided to run while in college, to keep himself healthy while losing alot of weight, along a diet for runners that makes him well-nourished. He was motivated by his own will to be slim and athletic. We were wondering what came into his mind --- he says he was always sitting in school, now is his chance to run free off his bounds and feel great. It was his way of being happy while healthy. Too bad he's not running anymore, quited and entered seriously to college --- programming.

My cross country coaches and my team mates motivate me. We have mileage that we run over the summer to prepare us for the actual season. At the end we have mile clubs(200- 700 miles over the summer) where you get a shirt for the amount that you ran. Our girls team is motivated to go to state this year. Last year we were a few points from making state. That is the main focus for our teams this incoming year.

It's a great stress reliever for me. I only like to run outside...I can't stand running on treadmills. So, it's always therapeutic for me. Plus, it always leaves me feeling rejuvenated and full of energy. It's a great calorie burning activity and helps me stay in shape.

95% of my runs are solo and I run because it gives me a chance to think things over, listen to music uninterrupted, sets me apart for fundraising( i will run 26. 2 miles for your pledge) keeps my body looking young, requires internal strength\discilpline, makes me a better employee(I am much calmer than others), to do well in races, and the running community provides lots of volunteer opportunities to do something good for others. i also enjoy the mental challenge of thinking up running workouts\plans and following through.

I do it because it keeps me at the weight I want to be at. Sometimes I enjoy it, sometimes I don't. But I always feel energized afterward.
