I am Fat, but was very active until I got injured severely.
I can't walk far because I am pinned together.
This weight gain occured during 2 1/2 years of therapy.
I got bored and had nothing else to do.
The cycle is endless, you have a problem, you eat, and you end up with more problems.
But now, I work hard in a very lucrative field, I am very productive, I am much in demand by the Firms I cater to, and I only use that handicapped tag when the pain is great.
In fact, I would be the first to agree that others may need the spot more, especially the mentally challenged who are young and agile, but think their time is more valuable than others.
Remember pregnancy is almost always a choice, physical disablement seldom is.

Sometimes, a disease causes a person to be immobile, then they gain weight. Many serious, life-threatening diseases happen to young, skinny peaple, too. Watch the MS telethon on Labor Day. Get some compassion! And just think, it could happen to you! Hope some nasty person confronts you in a parking lot as you get out of a car displaying a handicapped sign. You will get old, whether you like it or not, and be suseptible to all the diseases that can happen to the elderly.
And by the way, some stores do have special parking places for
the pregnant. Just saw one the other day. My Mother was in a wheelchair for years. Some man yelled at me once for taking up the handicapped spot, because it wasn't me, the driver, in the wheelchair. Poor Mom felt so bad, she couldn't drive, couldn't see, couldn't walk. You try pushing a wheelchair from the back of a parking lot, and regular sized parking spaces don't allow the wheelchair to be brought to the side of the car. She allowed me to drive her car with the sticker.
You need to exercise for the health of your child. If you have a medical difficuly, see your doctor and get a sticker. And wait for someone to yell at you, "Hey, what are you in that parking space for! Your just pregnant and fat! Read what "friend" says in the answer before mine! A doctor would not give a fat person a sticker, just for being fat. They need to walk, too.

Do you honestly think that an obese person can walk into the DMV and demand a handicapped sticker? You must be DISABLED to get one, and it must be certified by a physician, who stands to get in a lot of trouble for falsifying such certifications.
The pregnant woman is better off parking a little further away from the entrance, anyway, and walking. It'll ease labor and delivery and make for a healthier mom.
Besides, didn't she also do something to cause her condition? (I'm pretty sure that's how it works.)Extending your argument, you'd probably have to refuse the parking to a quadriplegic who dove into shallow water. He got that way from not checking the depth, didn't he?
Would you allow anyone handicapped parking if pregnant women can't have it? They COULD all just stay home if they're disabled, right?

You sound like a mean person. As someone who has struggled with weight I actually find your comments hurtful. For one thing I see a lot of overweight people, and the vast majority of them do not have handicap parking stickers. For another thing, obesity often starts in childhood. Sometimes it's because of genetics, sometimes it's because of poor choices made by parents and children. It's not up to you to judge anyone, it's not like anyone enjoys having weight problems, and nobody enjoys being referred to as "fat". When I was a kid everyone felt the need to feed me and I was so used to it I'd happily gobble up all the food they placed before me. I wasn't old enough to know what harm was being done to my body. As an adult of course I became aware, and I struggle to keep my weight down and stay healthy. I guess since you are so judgemental you must just be a perfect little thing, right?

Thats the point Heather - that is why fat people get those stickers but pregnant women don't - because fat people are in greater risk / danger than pregnant women. Lets compare - a pregnant woman for the most part is healthy, and active, and overtime after the deliver, is still full of life, and will still live for many years to come. Fat people (no offence) are not active, may have high blood cholesterol, and thus, may be in greater risk of heart attacks, or stopage of the heart, or may become diabetic. What a pregnant woman may worry about is miscarriage, or Post-Mortem bleeding, or otherwise - but the chance of dying is minimal. Fat people will ever know that they may suffer until it happens - this puts them in a position of getting stickers. Its sad. :(

I actually enjoyed walking at the end of my pregnancy but in the middle when I had sciatica and it took me 10 minutes to walk about a 150 feet, I needed a handicapped sticker but never got one. But carrying the baby in your tummy is nothing compared to becoming a pack mule mommy after you have the baby; you carry the baby in the carrier (20 lbs and increasing), the diaper bag (5 lbs) and your purse (2-5 lbs).
But some overweight people have to get one for more than just their weight...some are just lazy I think.

i agree lol i didn't know that fat people can get disabled stickers, but i guess a pregnant woman is only pregnant for 9 months and only find it hard to walk long distance and to get around in the last few months of the pregnancy so really its not worth the trouble of getting a sticker where a fat person is fat all the time or until they decide that they don't want to be fat anymore

1-Not all fat People get it, Only those who really can not walk and migh t need a Handicapped Chair, They get tired easily and would struggle if they park very far
2- For pregnant women, becasue Pregnant women can actually walk , it is infact better and recommended by Doctors that they walk in the period of pregnancy, PLUS it is only a 9 month period and hundered of thousands of women get pregnant, if they give them all permits, those permits might be useless since all the handicapped spaces are taken by others,

i think of it unquestionably relies upon on the being pregnant. In some circumstances, which includes in extreme threat pregnancies, i think of that it could be a good concept to grant a momentary disabled parking decal. that would not propose even although that girls who're 2 months pregnant and in good well being could desire to be waiting to take the spots of the disabled. the subject with the expectant mothers areas is that on an identical time as some cities have them, maximum do no longer. fairly interior the south. even while they do there is not any actual separation between who desires them and who basically would not decide for to stroll.
