You seem to have a really nice computer so the only things I can think of are either a virus, unknown spyware installed on your computer, a fragmented hard drive (which Windows Defragmenter would take care of), hard drive errors ( which Windows Scandisk would take care of), or you've got too many programs installed on your task bar which also bogs down a computer. If you've got too much stuff on the right side of your taskbar, you can type the command "msconfig" on the "run" line on your start programs menu and get rid of programs that you don't need on the task bar. Hope this helps, if not someone else here should be able to help you. Good luck.

MAKE YOUR MENUS LOAD FASTER

This is one of my favourite tweaks as it makes a huge difference to how fast your machine will 'feel'. What this tweak does is remove the slight delay between clicking on a menu and XP displaying the menu.

Go to Start then Run
Type 'Regedit' then click 'Ok'
Find "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop\"
Select "MenuShowDelay"
Right click and select "Modify'
Reduce the number to around "100"
This is the delay time before a menu is opened. You can set it to "0" but it can make windows really hard to use as menus will open if you just look at them - well move your mouse over them anyway. I tend to go for anywhere between 50-150 depending on my mood

the configuration is good enuf, do one thing, go to start > Run> msconfig
in the startup tab disable everything, save it and exit.
on the other side, start>run> type regedit and press enter,
there go to hkey_local_user and hkey_local_machine, in both these expand to software, microsoft, windows, current version, run, delete all the values which are not in the system32 or the windows folder, this is enuf to make the machine fly as if there is a dog behind... do perform the disk cleanups, delete all the files with the extension *.bak, *.tmp, *.gid, before searching for them enable the search for the hidden files and folders... you are done...

Follow these basic steps to speed up your PC :-
1.Run Disc Clean up, remember to check mark all options on disc clean up and clean up old restore points too, and clear your history and temp Internet files from Internet options in Internet explorer.
2.Run Scan-disc and defragment your hard drive !
If it still seems slow run Yahoo Anti-Spy and go to www.downloads.com and download and install ADWARE & SPYBOT to remove ad ware and spyware from your PC !
restart your PC and see if its running any better if not gimme an email with results and we will seee what can be done !
Take Care and God Bless !

Dont stack too much files in the C: drive try and remove unwanted files from that drive and run Disk Defragmator once every 15 days.Even I had the same problem but it was solved once I removed unwanted files from C: drive.

Do you use spyware, adware, and a good virus software? Do you delete temp. internet files and history, check to see if you need to defrag. All of the above will cause your computer to run slow. Also another problem is the registry, I would also encourage you to buy a registry scan and repairer. Anyway if you don't have all the protection I asked you about I am going to send you this free software I got from microsoft it is avg virus protection, an adware and a spyware.

try this steps:
1.virus scanning
2.spyware scanning
3.msconfig(unhook any unnecessary programs-there are also viruses sometimes)
4.i don't recommend regedit-if you mess it up you may have large problems in the future
5.try some programs
