There are lots of p2p programs you can use to download music for free such as Kazaa or Bear Share, but all of these programs put spyware and adware on your computer, you also run the risk of getting a virus, And you have to ask yourself if the copyright violation and possible repercussions due to that make it worthwhile. If you get an acct at the ipod music store every now and then they do have featured downloads for free, but I would definitely recommend staying away from "free sites"

babe, just download Limewire. No spyware threats and you get ALL the songs...for FREE. Screw the "reprocussions". I welcome the arrest and will do my damndest to make it as public as possible b/c they don't want to hear what I have to say about the music industry charging $15+ per CD for YEARS for 10 songs you didn't get a chance to even preview until about 5 yrs ago. Besides, unless you are using a universities server, you're fine. If you have a highspeed connection, you can get movies too.

I have downloaded songs from a website called Bear share. you just put the artist or song and they find it and you can download them.
