I heard that you can break your hymen by sports, horseback riding... Okay well when/if it breaks from any of those reasons will it hurt and you start bleeding. I am 13 I don't play sports, I don't wear tampons, I have horses and want to ride them but heard about the hymen thing and I am afraid to now. I don't want to start bleeding on a horse. I'm pretty sure my hymen is not broken yet so...

The question can it break from horse back riding and will you start to bleed and it hurt?

I have another question to. If your hymen is broken that doesn't mean you are no longer a virgin does it? I mean a doctor can tell if you are a virgin by that right? But its not all ways true, if it breaks when you are younger? Becuase I know it can break my sex.

Another question to. Does it make it more painful having sex if your hymen is not broken?

Thank you for all the help and awnsers can give.

Many, many active girls have a "broken" hymen and never even noticed it.

The hymen is a "ring of tissue," not something that covers the vaginal opening. It has an opening (unless there is a problem) from birth.

No, neither a doctor nor a lover can tell if you're a virgin by your hymen.

Sex should not be painful whether your hymen is "broken" or not. (Perhaps just a little, the first few times.) A caring partner will gently encourage relaxation, go slowly, and check with you to be sure you are not uncomfortable. Beginning to use tampons now or in the next few years will help gently stretch the tissue, and also help you become knowledgeable about that part of your anatomy.

Now go ride those horses. It's not as wonderful as love, but it sure is fun!

First of all, women's hymens vary a lot in thickness and how much of the vaginal opening they cover. Some women hardly have any tissue there to begin with. Secondly, there are many activities that can result in a broken hymen prior to intercourse, and it's nothing to be afraid of. Many women are not even aware when it happens. Long ago people thought that hymens were always intact until a women had intercourse. They might have had a doctor check a girl to "make sure she is a virgin" or check the sheets for blood after her wedding night. This must have resulted in a lot of innocent girls being falsely accused of having premarital sex. Fortunately, we know better now. We do not define women as virgins based on the presence or absence of a hymen, and doctors know better than to assume a girl has had sex just because her hymen is broken.

If your hymen does break while you are riding a horse or engaging in some other physical exercise, you may not notice. Even if you do, it's unlikely to hurt much, and will not produce a significant amount of blood. Nobody will be able to tell.

My final comment is that horseback riding is a healthful, exciting, and rewarding activity and I recommend it highly. If you find you really like it you will be so busy and having so much fun that it will be easy to avoid having sex before you're ready.

OK. It is natural and OK for this area to break for many reasons. The definition of a virgin is "One who has not looked upon a man in a sexual manner". In order to lose your virginity you must have sex. Many people masturbate and have broken their hymen but are still considered virgins. It usually does not hurt and you may not even notice that it is broken. Sex for the first time can hurt if it is not done properly though. Doctors can tell sometimes but you should always be honest with them. Remember: Never do anything you may regret later. You should never lie or hide anything from yourself or others.

You are inviting trouble by keeping unwanted fear in your mind. It is not necessary that your hymen can break while riding a horse or during sports. Feel feel to enjoy the horse riding. It the hymen is broken without having intercourse, the bleeding will be very meagre and sometime you will not even know. During first intercourse, the virgin girls bleed profusely. You hymen is not yet broken. Don't insert your finger or any other object in your vagina. Hymen can be broken by interring your finger or any other object in your vagina. It is painful during sexual intercourse when your hymen is not broken. Be away from sexual fantasies and sexual act in life until you are married. Please preserve your virginity for your husband as a wonderful gift of life. You are too young to bring such silly thoughts to your mind. Study well to built your future. Good luck and best of health.

I broke my hymen when i was like 10... it not hurt that much and there was a lil bit of blood.

the pain depends on the person.
ride your horse... have fun ... if it breaks oh well you are still a virgin!
once a penis enters your vagina you are no longer a virgin...
hmm how do lesbians determine when they are no longer virgins? i shall ask that.

I don't ever remember breaking my hymen....It happened but I couldn't even tell you when, or how it felt or if I bled. For me it wasn't even an issue!!
