Thats easy. Of course you believe them cos if he is not lying then he is a pathalogical liar. And if he is lying then , of course, he is a liar anyway!

well i have had a lot of experience with pathological liars, and my opinion, I hope it helps you is that if they are telling you they are a pathological liar then it is probably just a plot to get you to forgive them and make you think they have a problem when they are probably just merely an every day liar knowing what they are doing and need a good cover up for the lies they've told. Basically making you feel guilty or trying to put the blame on you a pathological liar would not tell you cause most of the time they don't even know it themselves..

The question is, do *you* believe the person is a pathological liar? After all, he or she may be lying about being a liar, right? Seriously, I think most pathological liars are focused on one aspect of their or someone else's life, and therefore simply can't be expected to be truthful about that aspect. I have a best friend whose lying I've accepted as part of being a part of his life. The saying goes, "There's the truth and then there's what my friend says." That particular trait doesn't bother me these days, because I have learned not to over-react to his more extreme accusations and statements -- they're the ones most likely not to be true. I also think it is very rare that anyone would come out and say he or she was a pathological liar, so anyone who claims to be such, is probably lying about that... :)

Pathological liars are capable of telling the truth....to a degree. Mainly because what makes their lies so believable is that there's JUST enough truth in each lie (thats how con men operate).....so if someone says they're a pathological liar you should believe it....but then be wary of what they say next.

Never, that is unless you are a person that likes to be lied to. Then you have a need to believe just like the pathological liar has a need to lie. I personally don't like to be lied to and certainly I can't stand to lie to anyone, unless that person wants to hear a lie and sometimes I make an exception just to please the other person. But I always do it with my fingers crossed. Hope this has helped or not. Actually we will never know because you don't know which kind of person I am.

LOL. Thats kinda an oxymoron isnt it? I suppose they could be lying about being a pathological liar if they are a pathological liar because thats what they do, they just lie for no reason apparent.

The statement is it's own answer. Most people you meet will have an agenda. An old street saying, "believe none of what you hear and only part of what you see.".....despite all the deceit, truth will out.
