Oh yes, I'ld say the number one prejudice I have seen is regional. How many time have you seen comments of southern redneck racist and I would bet most of the people saying that have never been to the south. Or have heard of people coming from the wrong side of town, or come from a certain area.

Then of coarse there is religion, political, sex, etc.. The reason racism comes up so often is it is the easiest prejudice to have. You don't really have to do research to find out whether or not you like the person.

Prejudice is unsubstantiated prejudgment of an individual or group, favorable or unfavorable in character, tending to action in a consonant direction. The hostility that prejudice can engender and the discrimination to which it may lead on the part of a dominant population toward an ethnic group, gender, religious or linguistic minority have caused great human suffering throughout history. Some researchers attribute prejudice to deep-rooted "fear of the stranger," while others cite religious or nationalist chauvinism, and fear of economic competition.

Prejudice can be based on race, skin color, eye color, hair color, shoe or clothing size, gender, sexual orientation, religion, occupation, education (or lack thereof), age, height, weight...the list could go on ad infinitum.

It is based on differences.

Being prejudice is not a necessarily a bad thing. By definition it is a "pre-Judgment". You pre-judge people every time you meet someone you don't know. You pre Judge people on everything, not just race. And everyone does it.

Everyone is prejudice (you could argue that everyone discriminates but I am not going to now)

Of course. In Serbia, there was religious prejudice as well as linguistic prejudice -- although their languages were almost identical. There is political prejudice, as we saw between the Tutsi and Hutu in Rwanda. The list is endless.

religion as well. The PC thing to do is hate Christians and blame them for all the world wrongs. It is even ordered by some liberal Judges. As in keeping the boy scouts out of parks because they do not want a gay man taking a 13 to 17 yo boy out in the woods.

Yes! People are of afraid things they don't understand. There is a lot of fear in the unknown. Gender, religion, height, how much money you have, sexual orientation, the list goes on and on for what people are prejudiced towards. We all have them but how we handle them determines our character. I see so many people even on here argue over the stupidest things! It's more important to try and approach people with compassion and respect.

There are literally unlimited ways people are prejudiced.

Prejudice is a survival skill because it allows a person to take action with the least amount of critical thinking.

If a lion is about to eat you, you really shouldn't waste time worrying about how he was raised, or his motives.

Prejudice allows you to respond first and rationalize in safety.

Prejudice is not always negative, people are prejudiced that people who share similar characteristics are not hostile to them, until they discover otherwise through experience.

Prejudice can be over anything.... religion, race, sexual identity/preference.... if a person is diverse in any way, chances are there's someone out there that is prejudiced against them for it.
