Lols! Good Question.

Well Most of the ones who want to use free wireless will first check the ones with no security Code. For example if you are using a SBC 2wire Router, they do give a security code so if your neighbour wants to use your wireless, then he/she needs to type the code.

And then try to change the Badwidth and time to time, check who's online, using your control panel came with the router.

You can secure your wireless connection through your wireless router, you will have to connect to the router and to do so you can open internet explorer and type the IP address of the router into the address bar. Linksys is 192.168.1.1, dlink 192.168.0.1, if you have another brand consult your manual for your router.
There it will prompt you for user name and password, again if you don't know what that is consult the manual. But could be username: admin password: (no password). Once you have access look for the wireless options and then under those options you can set a security protocol, I use WEP because its easy to use. Follow the instructions on the page so that the router will provide you with keys, once you get the keys you will now need to use those with the computer you are accessing the wireless network with.

Again all this good stuff is in the manual.
Good Luck

activate the WEP key of your broadband router. for most users, that is enough to block unauthorized persons to access your wireless network. check the cd-rom that comes with your router, usually setting-up of WEP key can be found under the "Security" settings. just follow the instructions and everthing is straght-orward.

Read the documentation that came with the router. Of course since you didn't mention that in your question no one be able to tell you.

There are a few different ways to do it. The best way is to ask an expert friend to come over and do it.
