A candy bride and groom, not actual people of course - I'm not THAT strange.

I think among many reasons, as stated above, following may hold true:

1. Memento to keep for the children to play.

2. Do not start knifing each other or get knifed on the wedding day practice match (symbolic) (LOL)!!

3. Cannibals are not welcome at the weddings, hence plastic. (Ha-ha)

watch the TV food network they can be make of candy in cartoons of you bride/groom the wedding weekend was this past sat/sun but try the website...and they may have the cake decorator in new york who did it for the i want TV food network to cater my wedding special.. Blessings to you and yours

They are made of plastic because most couples want to be able to keep the top decoration. If it were edible, it would deteriorate to nothing.

you can get candy, icing and even chocolate versions (as well as non-edible porcelain)

ask the cake maker if she can make you an edible set if you can't find any
