Don't go, why do you want to go hunt and kill a poor defenseless animal, who never caused you a bit of harm. All bears want, is to live free, eat and make little baby bears, and you want to go and slaughter one, for fun. Don't you see how wrong that is. Go on a canoe trip down a river, and enjoy the outdoors. Why not go on a photo safari, and take some great photograph's of wildlife, that way you can enjoy the wilderness, without disturbing it anymore, than we already have. Think about it OK, you don't have to kill something, for no reason, because you don't feel good about yourself. Let bears and all animals live, and be free. Hunting is just so wrong, in so many ways.

if you can pepper spray. or what they call bear spray. a tree stand . if you're using a bow make sure its sighted in, a pistol.. 357, 44 something along those lines.. (by the way a 44 is best up close) and of course your rifle.. and always keep cool never panic..place your shots...
dogs help but can scare them em away. bears have an odor.. you can smell it as long as not up wind even then its a little for for smell but possible once you get used to it.. if you see a cub.. watch out for its mother .. don't think the cub is cute and try and pet it or catch it.. bears are known to come up from behind after you've spotted them in the distance.. always watch in a circle around you.. in trees too
If you do get attacked with no way out.. PLAY DEAD.. seriously no life what so ever . once the bear is done ruffin you up.. yeah you might be cut up a bit, the bear may try and cover you with dirt and debris after its done.. Wait a little bit after it leaves before you move.. then get out if you can.. it will come back..
once again.. play dead....do not try and fight it when its got you its grips..
If its a grizzly hunt.. oh boy...

Well lookn at the other answers you already know that you need a GUN... which is obvious, plenty of ammo, you always need plenty of water. I bring snacks when i go just be sure you dont bring a sandwhich with meat that can go bad and smell... you will go from being the hunter to the HUNTED!!! hahah well let me know if u need any more

Take a gun, load it, put the barrell to the front of your head and pull the trigger. Then all the bears in the world wil be safe.
