Clear = No color?

In that case, isn't clear the same as "all colors"?

It can be clear, you can even put a basecoat clear / top coat clear (no color in the basecoat, just use clear binder) in either case the car would then be the exact color of the sealer, that is on top of the primer, that is on top of the metal - Oh, and the 'polished stainless steel look' won't work - when you polish the metal that smooth then those clears won't stick to it - not to mention the sealing problems.

Most sealers are a dull black / most primers are a puke yellow = looking for something different. paint the car with a 10/80/10 mix of white - clear binder - and pearl (without any real color / white pearl if you have to) / should make the whole thing look like a semi-liquid milk of magnesia.

FYI to all the others asking / posting about clear - ALL cars made in the last 10 years or so have clear on them - that is what makes them shine / gives depth to the reflection - really exspensive paint jobs will put in 3 to 5% of the base color into the first 1 or 2 coats of clear, then put 1 or 2 coats of (true) clear on top of that - makes the thing really look deep on the color. (IE: is almost like a basecoat, topcoat, clearcoat - except it does not change colors.)
The clear on these paint jobs becomes the top tough, protecting coat - as long as whatever underneath the clear is not incompatable with the clear you can put anything underneath it - we cleared one autograph car; people signed the car on top of a white basecoat, with black paint sticks, then we clear coated it to keep the signatures and little drawings they had put on it.

white is the combination of all colours in the spectrum and black is the reflection of no colours. Clear is not a colour. But if you wish you can try to replicate the illusion of clear but you need colours to do this-white, gray, blue, yellow, green black etc. Clear is a reflection of the colours that influence it. You won't learn this from today's "con-artists"-look at Monet as an example or some of the so called fine art masters, look at modern advertising illustrators in their heydey-1900-1960. Search out some of the gorgeous signs and pictorials turned out by talented sign artists. Clear can be your favourite colour as long as you realize it's not a colour but a technique. It takes practice to make clear your favourite colour

Its more of a conduit for color than an actual color. I guess if you said you like clear because it goes so well with everything, but you can't really see clear as much as see through it.

think about wearing a blue color shirt every day for 365 day of the year. You get bored. So, you don't have a favorite means that you are like me, interesting and diversified.

I think you can have clear as a best color, it lets everything through so its as good as white.

because clear isn't a color, its a state of transparency(think I spelled that right). Its like saying my favorite color is solid

its so versatile.... sparkling would not conflict with some thing!! it options up impartial and classic tones in all colorings and really brings out a competent hue..... its an tremendously reliable determination of a coloration that consistently receives the shaft because "You cant see it" reliable for you for choosing sparkling :-)
