I used dvd43 to backup my dvd collection and it worked for all of them, they have changed the software now and it is no longer free but you can still find the old version through p2p programs such as Kazaa, Slysoft's Any dvd works as well

"DVD Shrink"
It's free. just google it

Realize this though:
There is no program out there that can decrypt all DVDs that are made, because there are many copyright methods and more coming out all the time.

DVD Shrink works for me about 95% of the time.

I also do not recommend doing anything illegal. Backup copies of anything you already own is legal. Copying something you do not own is illegal and yes people have been busted for this.

With DVD Shrink you download and run it with the settings as they come installed. Then answer a few quick popup menu's and the program will decrupt your DVD in about 15 minutes.

Now all you have to do is open a DVD Burner program (I use Intervideo DVD copy, bought it for $20), pop in a blank DVD and it is very simple to use.

You can also find some free DVD burning software on the internet but I will highly recommend two things if you want to keep it as cheap as possible:

1) Use DVD Shrink because it's free and does a great job, you should never have to pay for a DVD protection removal program when a first class program like this is available.
2) Put out the $20 at a local software shop to buy a DVD burning program. The free ones are usually crap or place limits on what you can do.

Again, there are multiple ways of accomplishing a DVD copy. I am only providing what I believe to be the cheapest yet fully functional way.

You should rip them, using programs such as "magic dvd copier" , than you can burn them. As far as copying straight from one dvd to another, I think dvd platinum, can do the job , but I suggest the first method. Be sure not to violate the copyright, though

If you can get copy of 321 Studios DVD X-Copy, i Got one and have burned over 100 movies, sometimes though it can't override the encryption, but I enjoy it. Works quite nicely, and can copy the entire Disk with extras also

Use the two programs on this page to rip and compress your DVD's: http://www.sheerboredom.net/modules.php?name=News&file=article&sid=65

Then use a standard DVD burning program to burn them onto discs.
