loadin up the kids..takin them to see the fireworks..then coming home..and shooting off some of our own. After the kids go to bed..have a few drinks..maybe a few friends over..and thinkin alot of the people who died for our country. Its all very fulfilling. If it were on a weekend..I might get hammered.

I live in a smaller town in the Midwest so Independence Day here is awesome we camp, boat, and shoot off an enormous amount of fireworks all night long someone usually ends up getting hurt, but every year has a story.

Just answered a question similiar to this one. We usually like to do a BBQ and Bonfire. Invite some friends and some neighbors over. We have everyone bring dishes and drinks. That way it doesn't cost anyone too much. Bring out the bean bag toss game (or you can see if anyone has a bean bag toss game that they could bring) And we party. Shoot off fireworks and hang out. Inexpensive fun!

My Independence Day holiday is always busy because that is when my family gets together for a reunion. The family reunions always last 2 days. There are lots of people and activities, so that keeps me busy.

Our Bank holds a concert and than has fireworks afterwards. The only money I spend is for food and drinks.

lots of family and friends at the house. loads of fireworks. each year we do a different theme for the food. this year we are having a shrimp boil( lots of seafood). we do all kinds of stuff. you could even buy gift bags and fill them with small, cheap fireworks and hand the bags out and have every1 participate

Either staying in town and hanging with friends, or going home and setting off fireworks. My dad and I are both chemists so we both appreciate fire (no we don't make our own - we're not stupid/suicidal)

Mostly just taking a break from work.

I love to reread the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Bill of Rights at this time of year. The Dec. of Ind. is, afterall, what the holiday is about. -- I find that the snazzy sky sparklies are far more meaningful to me this way. :-)
