Depends on how hard you throw them. I don't like them and don't use them. I much prefer the sleeves. For my computer discs, I learned a long time ago that the old 51/4 floppies work great. You bust the top flap off, pitch the disk, and you have a very nice anti-static lined sleeve to put the cd in.

They break easily because they are made of plastic and are designed to be slim and to flip open so their hinges are weak and easy to snap off.

Because they're made more for show over functionality, so they're made with cheap materials.
