I have netgear rangemax wireless router. I Have a wireless network at my home with two laptops connected to my router . I just hooked my network ready Dell 1710n printer to my router via eathernet port. Can i send the print commands from my laptop to this network ready printer without booting up my main computer. Or Do i need a print server for this purpose even though the printer is network ready.

what is the difference between a network ready and stand alone printer. if i need a print server for both of them , then whats the logic of spending 100 dollar extra on a printer just because it says its network ready.

Is there any built in print server in the network ready printer?

You do not need a network server for this printer, basically from what I can find you for you you just make sure it has power plug the network cable into the router and into the printer, then you will have to get the IP address from the printer as the printer uses DHCP to obtain an IP automatically, to get the ip of the printer simple press and release the continue button (>) and it should print a status page or something like. Check out the source I have provided below its pretty easy to follow and read.

And I do believe you will need to run the software on each computer for them to be able to print without having to refer to another computer.
