Memories.

Friendship! When the team that I was on, went to the USA Cup in Blaine Minnesota, at the very last game we played (which was the finals, which we won!) we exchanged our jerseys. We made friends with them and this is just a reminder of the friends we made. (also the remembrance of the team we beat for the 1st place trophy, yeah!)

Listen Buddy, there are players who don't just play the game but play it for honour! they are greatful for playing against their strong opponents. The jersys are souvineers but the players exchange them for the honour, joy and the heart that they have for the game! The game is a beautiful joy. They respect it and each other people that play the game, so as gratitude it is thinking for the heart of the other players!

Tradition, as a memento of the game just played.

In ice hockey, players have done this as well, although there is often an exchange of officially sancitioned mementoes, such as: souveniors of your city or country, miniature trophies etc. etc.

I think is kind of like to show some respect to each other after all the incidents that happend in the game and it's more like friendship symbol....

It's tradition. When then play against someone they actually respect, at the end they trade shirts with them, sort of in a way of saying "Thanks for this match".

In case you are wondering about when they get it back, they don't, they keep them.
