He can't force you to go back, I'd suggest calling him up and telling him to suck it. I wouldn't go back, I'd just tell him to shove it. IF he keeps harasing you, you can sue him for harasment.... :D

I also walked out of my job about two years ago. When I told my boss that she was a joke after she blamed and accused me for her mistakes and began to leave her office, she threatened me by saying "if you leave you won't get paid". At that point I could care less for the measly money I was making there. My well being was more important. I've never done that before, but as I was gathering some of my belongings she ran after me and again said the same thing. As if that was going to hold me back. I guess she didn't know I had more dignity than most people at the place. I took a few days off and quit officially with my letter of resignation. She again confronted about it. "Why did you leave?", I thought come on lady, if you don't know why then it's a good thing I'm leaving such a clueless environment. I said goodbye to my clients, walked out the door to freedom and never looked back. A month later, I started my own consulting service, and still loving every minute of it.
Some people I speak to do not have the courage to make a move like us. As far a your situation, write a letter of resignation and date it the day you left. By law they are supposed to pay you two weeks after you "officially resign". Don't let this weak insecure person push you around. YOu are a courageous person with plentiful of opportunities. Also, there's a harrassment hotline you can call and report him, as well as the police report. I would get a friend that is a lawyer to write a letter defending you and telling him in legal terms to leave you alone. Good luck.

It depends. Did you have a contract with your boss?
If you had a contract, then despite the dramatic symbolism of walking out, you may owe your boss something.
If you were employed at-will without a contract, then basically you can quit whenever you want and no, he can't make you come back.
It doesn't sound likely, but you may want to consider the question of whether you could ever get a good reference out of this former boss - when he cools down, if you do go in to train your replacement or whatever it is that he wants you there for, is there a chance that he'll be a positive line on your work history?
Either way, best of luck to you, and may you have better fortunes with your next employment scenario.

Draft a suitable letter that you deliver by the HR branch (if he's the HR dept, lol , then placed up it to him in an workplace mailbox or some thing) pointing out merely what you reported above. this may function a silent caution to end that style of habit. keep a duplicate of it for your self and make positive it truly is dated. If there is mistreatment at artwork as because of the your action, you've were given some criminal documentation. THEN if it maintains after that, evaluate getting a criminal professional. :0)

YOU have a new job then go, since you didn't need him for a job reference. He has no hold on you, think of it this way .Most jobs ask you for 2 weeks notice when you resign, but they don't give you 2 weeks notice when they Fire you. So keep stepping and he he keeps harassing you report him to the cops, lol. He is not allowed to harass you and no you don't have to go back

If its a serious problem, you can report him to the police.
If its just a minor issue, just ignore it, he can't make you do anything.
If he really really wants you to come back, make it worth Your while, ask for a very large pay raise, and a promotion, and the ability to work from home (so you don't have to be around him).

He cannot force you to come into work. Period. If he insists then ask him for a rediculous raise, or just ignore him completely.

he can't force you to do anything.
Or if he tries, just say "fine, I'm taking next week off"
You can also threaten him with a harrasment charge too (although you probably won't need to)

ignore him, but if it's getting excessive, file a harassment report, or change your phone number
