But what happens if he gets a phd?

are they gonna call him Doctor Doctor, or Doctor Mister?

That would just be silly.

No.
If they want to be Mister - they just have to be male.
If they want to be Doctor - they can get a degree.

Seriously how stupid sounding would it be if your kid became a doctor and his NAME was doctor?

Dr. Doctor Smith ?
Mr. Mister Smith ?
Sounds dumb.
So no.

Yes, those are beautiful names for a girl or a boy! How about Doctor-Shemp or Mister-Shemp?

No to both choices. In naming children, it's best to look ahead. What may sound cute or cool now may actually be vile-sounding in the future. Moon Unit Zappa anyone?

That is just wrong! As a teacher, let me tell you kids tend to be cruel about whatever they can come up with. You are just adding fuel to the fire. Give the kid a break!

Cute. I know a person who was born on December 25 and her name is Mary Kristmas (it's actually spelled like this) and she wasn't happy with it.
