No, the only thing that gives the crust of bread a different appearence is the fact that its been cooked more because its on the outside, Parents tell their kids that so they will eat the end pieces that are usually not as soft and tastey as the middle

The end pieces, or the heel as it's called, isn't any more or less nutritious than the rest of the loaf of bread. It's the end of the bread, and it's usually more crusty than the rest of it.

Its not that it is the "end peice".......its that peices on the end have more crust
and the crust is more healthy than the regular bread inside
