My DH & I had been ttc for 3 years when he went in for testing. His count is great, but his motility is verrry low. He doesn't smoke, drink or do drugs. He wears boxers and eats very healthy...we just don't understand and can't really afford expensive alternatives. Does anyone have any tips that have worked? Thanks!

A friend of mine and her husband had the same problem. They were TTC for a couple of years with no luck, so her husband went in and found out he had low motility. The doctor told him to try vitamin C and vitamin E, and sure enough she got pregnant! You could also try FertilityBlend vitamins for men. They have both of these ingredients plus others that really help improve a man's sperm. Good luck, my partner and I are dealing with the same problem now, and I know how frustrating it can be.

There was a recent study showing that caffeine increases sperm motility. Here is a BBC News blurb about it:

Try dosing him with lots of oysters as they are high in zinc and calcium. Also let him take a lot of vitamin C tablets.

I don't know of anything that works, but I would read up on lycopene. It is found in tomatoes and included in most multivitamins. Treating with it is cheap and risk-free.
