do you think that it is:
1) Kansas
2) Duke
3) Kentucky
4) North Carolina
5) UCLA

I am a Kentucky fan so you know that ima say Kentucky! But I think that they have a great spot in history because a lot of great players and coaches have came from Kentucky, and you can't forget 7 titles and the reputation of being one of the toughest places to play in and the Fans! I know our team isn't as good as we were before but im not saying we won't be again cause I know we will, but many great people came from that team such as, Pat Riley, Antoine Walker, Tony Delk, Tayshaun Prince, Derek Anderson, and future pro Rajon Rondo. So what team has the greatest history to you and why? In my opinion it is the Big Blue Nation!

You can't argue with the dynasty that UCLA had. I truly respect the other dynasties, but UCLA was so dominant for years. 7 championships in a row, 11 total.

As good as those others are, none have done that.

Well I misunderstood the question..

If by place you mean venue - then Kansas with honorable mention to New Mexico..

If by place.. you mean historically.. then it's far and away UCLA. John Wooden and the Bruins did something that will NEVER be repeated again over the course of the 70's.

I think the answer has to be Kansas for one simple reason. Dr. James Naismith, the inventor of basketball. He was also the first basketball coach in history. I think his history speaks for itself:

"Naismith moved to the University of Kansas, in 1898, following his studies in Denver, becoming a professor, and the school's first basketball coach. University of Kansas went on to develop one of the nation's most storied college basketball programs.

Ironically, Naismith is the only Kansas coach to have a losing record (55-60) during his tenure at the school. Nevertheless, Naismith has one of the greatest coaching legacies in basketball history. Naismith coached Forrest "Phog" Allen, who then became one of the coaches with the most wins in U.S. college basketball history, and his eventual successor at Kansas. Phog Allen was the college basketball coach of Dean Smith and Adolph Rupp, who are the two winningest of men's college basketball and won a combined total of six NCAA championships. Adolph Rupp was the college basketball coach of Pat Riley who is one of the winningest coaches in NBA history and four NBA championships. Dean Smith went on to be the college basketball coach of hall of fame coach Larry Brown, current North Carolina coach Roy Williams, and basketball great Michael Jordan.

In the late 1930s Naismith played a role in the formation of the National Association of Intercollegiate Basketball, which later became the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics.

In August 1936, while attending the Berlin Olympics, he was named honorary President of the International Basketball Federation." - Taken from wikipedia.org

Your question says "team" but, you and everybody else are talking about "schools"
The best college "team" ever was 90-91 UNLV........
the 73-74 UCLA was a close second.
